Abstract
As the digital revolution continues to expand and becomes a central part of our daily lives, the contributions of these sectors are only going to grow further. That is because, in many ways, it is the demand for great content that is the main driving force behind the digital economy revolution. The global economy has shifted from natural resources driven economy (industry-based) to knowledge driven economy (creative economy / innovation driven economy). Consequently, the creative sectors contribute tremendously to job's creation and economic growth. This paper is aimed to analyse the role of creative sector towards the economy and employment in South Kalimantan. The descriptive methodwith content analysis is used to analyse the role of creative economy in South Kalimantan. The result shows that the slowing down of South Kalimantan economy inversely proportional to the rise of creative economy sector. Hence, the employment condition in South Kalimantan has not been effectively affected by the creative economy sectors.
